The carnival day featured more than a dozen stalls tended by children dressed as colourful commercial characters.

''The children spent Thursday and Friday last week deciding the themes for their stalls and then made the food and everything they needed,'' director Jeremy Botting said.

''Then they use their entrepreneurial skills and play games to make money.''

More than 180 children, aged 5-14, took part in the carnival.
