Entertainer Jackie Clarke leads Dunedin school pupils in song
during the World Vision Kids for Kids concert at the Dunedin
Town Hall last night.
Fifteen Dunedin schools took part, with about 520 pupils
taking to the stage in a mass choir to sing popular ''Kiwi''
songs from the likes of Dave Dobbyn and Brook Fraser.
''It gives them a taste for what it's like to put on a big
show and feel like stars,'' tour manager Dayna Vawdrey said.
The Dunedin concert was the first in a two-month South Island
tour and of the concert's 20th year.
Ticket prices covered the cost of putting on the show and did
not go to World Vision.
The show helped raise awareness of the plight of children in
Third World countries and a booth was set up on the night for
people who wished to sponsor a child, Ms Vawdrey said.
