Creative folk to tell of inspiration

A series of free public talks will reveal the sources of inspiration that drive some of the people involved in the creative enhancement of Dunedin.

''Word Pictures'' will feature hour-long talks delivered by people involved in the cultural and creative development of Dunedin, ranging from a birdlife restorer to a restorer of buildings.

The talks are being held in conjunction with the Otago Art Society's 138th annual exhibition in the Art Station, at the Dunedin Railway Station.

The talks will feature Orokonui Ecosanctuary trustee Alyth Grant on June 11, Dunedin heritage building restorer Lawrie Forbes on June 18 and Otago University Press publisher Rachel Scott on June 25.

The talks are free and will be held on Wednesdays from noon till 1pm at the Art Station.

The Otago Art Society annual exhibition opens on Saturday and runs till June 30.
