Celebrating the centenary of the St Clair Women's
Group at Frances Hodgkins Retirement Village in Dunedin
yesterday are (from left) sales adviser Kate Morgan,
president Lee McLauchlan, Flower Shop owner Jude Trim and
life members Winsome James, Clarice Pearson and Beckie Rout.
The group marked the anniversary with a floral demonstration
and afternoon tea.
The group was founded in December 1914, as the St Clair Young
Ladies Club, to help the Red Cross and other charitable
societies and provide companionship for women whose men were
fighting in World War 1.
The name was changed to the St Clair Women's Club in 1925.
