Series of crimes in Mosgiel area

A new home has been damaged with graffiti and wallets taken from unlocked vehicles in the Mosgiel area.

A Silver Springs Boulevard property was tagged, as was a vacant Ayr St house, where a window and a door were also damaged, Senior Sergeant Mark Crawford, of Dunedin, said.

Two padlocks were cut at a commercial property in Factory Rd, he said.

A security gate to a forestry block was also damaged and firewood taken.

Several cars were unlawfully entered in the Taieri area.

In Outram, vehicles parked in Lynas, Beaumaris, Skerries and Mountfort Sts were entered and various personal items, including wallets, were taken, Snr Sgt Crawford said.

In Mosgiel, four vehicles, including three in Goodall St, were entered.

A wallet and a DVD were taken from one vehicle and a wallet from another car.

Cigarettes were taken from a vehicle in Forfar St.

Sergeant Kevin Davidson, of Mosgiel, urged residents to report suspicious behaviour to police immediately.
