Dunedin city councillors have responded to the Deloitte
report on the $1.59 million Citifleet fraud with
disappointment and anger, but also with confidence new
systems in place will make sure it does not happen again.
Losing the right to train intensive care unit specialists in
Dunedin Hospital is an ''unpleasant surprise'' that will
affect staff recruitment, Southern District Health Board's
medical director of surgery says.
The Dunedin City Council has done some ''pretty good work in
a pretty short period of time'' to turn its systems around,
Deloitte partner Kyle Cameron, the lead investigator of the
Citifleet fraud, says.
