The fate of Mosgiel's Christmas market will be up for discussion at today's Mosgiel Business Association annual meeting.
Chairman Blair Arthur said some members were questioning whether the annual street market, which was run by the association, should be continued.
This comes after last year's market, in a closed-off Gordon Rd, was badly affected by weather, with many vendors failing to turn up.
Mr Arthur would like a Mosgiel market day to continue but would consider a different time of year, for instance, in March.
''Do we need to revamp it? Do we need to try and do it another way?''
The market was a highlight on the Mosgiel calendar, with entertainment for the children.
Other options included having the market, which had been going off and on for decades, every two years.
He would be ''disappointed'' if the more than 40 business association members wanted it scrapped.
He accepted the event was expensive and that it was difficult to avoid clashes with other events, including the Dunedin Santa Parade.
''We normally do run at a loss,'' he said.
The association was also discuss its business hub, where guest speakers spoke about issues from social media to business banking.
Members would be asked about ideas for future guest speakers.
