Ms Hamilton taught 10 lucky ODT subscribers how to cater for a dinner party and offered insights into her life and time on MasterChef in 2011.

She prepared a three-course meal, which included a chicken wonton crisp, lamb shanks and mille-feuille.

She told the group how much auditioning for MasterChef meant to her: ''If it all stopped there, at least it showed them [her children] that you can move on, you can live your dream and you can go further.''
