Warehouse street party

After several years' hard work it's time to recognise the efforts of business owners and others in Dunedin's warehouse neighbourhood, the Dunedin City Council says.

So the council is joining members of the warehouse precinct community to throw a party - a street party featuring street artists, live music and street food.

The party, part of the Arts Festival, will be held in Vogel St on October 18.

Council policy planner (heritage) Dr Glen Hazelton said the street party would celebrate the efforts of business owners and others involved in various renovation and re-use projects in heritage buildings, and also showcase the variety of businesses now based in the neighbourhood.

Many of the buildings in the street would open their doors for the day so people could have a look around the refurbished spaces.
