Police have named the man who died after the quad bike he was driving overturned on a farm near Waihola last night.

He was Neville Ian Anderson (56), of Milton.

Dunedin police said Mr Anderson was working on steep terrain at the Waihola Hill farm when the motorbike overturned, trapping him underneath it.

Police were alerted at 6.45pm, district deployment co-ordinator Senior Sergeant Matt Scoles said.

The crash scene was remote and WorkSafe New Zealand staff would visit it today.
