A Dunedin artist has been reunited with his "pride and joy'', a distinctive studded vest.

Sam Ovens misplaced a recyclable New World shopping bag containing the studded vest, metal ringlet belt and black cap, on Gt King St, on Friday at noon.

He told the Otago Daily Times he was "gutted by the loss''.

However that despair turned to jubilation today when he was told the items were waiting for him at Number One Shoes, and ``someone obviously picked it up and took it in there''.

"It is great news,'' he said.
