The 6-year-old boy injured when a children's motorised train overturned is unlikely to return to school this year.
The boy received moderate head injuries when the train tipped over at the Light Party held at Forsyth Barr Stadium as an alternative to Halloween.
His mother said her son was discharged from hospital last Sunday.
He would likely return to school next year.
