Many Dunedin people may be on holiday elsewhere, but holidaymakers from Australia, Christchurch and the North Island were among those filling holiday parks in and around Dunedin at the weekend.

Some Mosgiel holidaymakers, including family groups, also enjoyed themselves at Outram Glen on Saturday, until calling it a day when afternoon rain fell.

And Dunedin beaches remained popular, with many people enjoying themselves at Brighton beach.

Leonie Cornelius, of Christchurch, was enjoying her trip to Dunedin and the ''lovely'' conditions at Brighton beach.

And she also appreciated having the surf life-savers from Brighton Surf Life Saving Club available to help keep everyone safe, including the many children at the beach.
