Most toddlers have trouble staying upright, let alone riding a trike - but not Joel George.

Since the day he learnt to walk, he has been a daredevil, pulling skids and one-handed jumps on trikes, scooters and bikes, all with the devil-may-care attitude: ''What could possibly go wrong?''

Now 8, Joel is a big fan of American motocross star Travis Pastrana and the Nitro Circus, and was especially excited after recently winning a Nitro Circus competition which will allow him to meet Pastrana before tonight's show at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin.

Joel has been mad about motocross and the Nitro Circus since his parents introduced him to riding when he was 4.

By the time he was 6, he had been to his first live Nitro Circus show and got his first bike - a yellow and white 50cc dirt bike which looks a lot like a miniature version of Pastrana's.''

He's an outgoing kid and he's been talking non-stop about meeting Travis this week,'' his mother, Nardia Burrell, said.''

It feels like the only thing that quietens Joel at the moment is watching his Nitro Circus DVDs, which he does every night before he sleeps.''
