A reward for information on the tagger who defaced a central Dunedin car park is still unclaimed.

King Edward Court manager Roberta Coutts established a $100 ''reward purse'' last month, in the hope it would get someone to dob in the culprit(s) who repeatedly tagged a nearby Wilson's car park in Tennyson St.

A large wall in the car park was repainted in mid-January, but the paint had hardly dried when someone tagged it again.

Adding insult to injury, the culprit(s) had also written ''CLEAN THIS!'' on the wall.

She was furious at the damage, Mrs Coutts said.

Her stand against graffiti resonated with others around the city, encouraging them to add money to the purse. Now, $430 has been raised and the total continues to grow.

''If people want to identify the culprit to police, there is a reward available for $430.

''If people want to add contributions to the reward purse, they still can,'' she said.

While she was disappointed no-one had yet come forward with information, she was pleased the car park had not been tagged since she raised the issue.

Wilson Parking had repainted the graffitied wall as soon as it was re-tagged, and it had remained clean for the past two weeks.

''It's stayed clear, so I think maybe somebody is feeling a little bit frightened.''

The reward would stand for the foreseeable future, but a time would come when the money would have to be put towards something else.

If the reward was not collected, Mrs Coutts said she would go back to the donors and ask them what they would like to do with the money.

She suggested giving the money to Keep Dunedin Beautiful or Taskforce Green, community organisations which help clean up graffiti around the city.

Those with information about the culprit(s), or those wanting to contribute to the reward, should email kingedwardcourt@gmail.com.
