A 32 year old male Korean national died at the scene of a two car crash on the intersection of Blackhead Rd, Tunnel Beach Rd and Green Island Bush Rd.
A 31 year old female Korean national was taken to Dunedin hospital, but died later that night.
The pair both lived and worked in New Zealand.
The next of kin have been notified and requested privacy.

The 21 year old suffered serious head, chest and leg injuries after crashing his road bike, Acting Senior Sergeant Ian Temple, of Dunedin, said he confirmed the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The rider is in Dunedin Hospital in a critical condition.
The serious crash unit was investigating, and ''at this stage there is nothing to suggest the cause of the crash''.
