Boy hit by four-wheel-drive vehicle

A 6-year-old boy was taken to Dunedin Hospital by St John ambulance after being hit by a four-wheel-drive in Delta Dr, Waldronville, yesterday.

Emergency services were called about 6.20pm after the child was hit by a vehicle leaving the address, Senior Sergeant Brian Benn said.

The child was on a motorised bike at the time and pulled in front of the four-wheel-drive.

The boy, who was wearing a helmet, sustained a cut to his leg which required stitches, Snr Sgt Benn said.

No charges would follow.
