Ready for consultation

A consultation document about the Otago Regional Council's latest long-term plan can be released for public consideration.

In a recently tabled report, ORC chief executive Peter Bodeker said the document had been signed off by the council's finance and corporate committee and sent to the printers.

The consultation document outlines the main points proposed for the ORC's 2015-25 long-term plan.

It foreshadows the council's main work programmes and sets out performance targets for the first three years of the plan.

Mr Bodeker said this was the first time the ORC had adopted a ''consultation document process'' and some ''learnings for council staff'' had resulted in a high-quality document being produced.

A feature of the communication was an innovative online document reading programme, and a ready reckoner to calculate new rate levels for individual property owners, he said in the report.
