Search Centre returns

The Otago Museum search centre has moved back to its original location, behind the Discovery World desk at the atrium level one.

The search centre had been shifted upstairs to the People of the World Gallery in mid-2013, after a museum report showed ''a lack of awareness'' of the centre by the public.

The centre plays several roles, and enables visitors to learn more about the museum's collections.

The earlier shift was made partly because it was felt the centre was ''obscured'' by the Discovery World desk.

A more recent museum report said the centre was easier to find near the Discovery World entry, and centre staffing could also be more conveniently provided in the initial location.
