Peninsula challenge tough going

Helena Sodergren, of Roxburgh, leads Brynley Paul Pearce and Ben Carrick, both of Dunedin, up Karetai Rd in the long course mountain bike race of the Peninsula Challenge yesterday. Anton Cooper won the 43km bike section and Mary Gray won the open women's race.

Nathan Baxter won the 23km run, and Mel Aitken smashed the 2009 women's course record.
