There will be plenty of boots, cowboy hats and the odd ''yee-hah'' in Mosgiel this weekend when two of Australasia's top country singers perform at the Hotel Taieri.

New Zealand singer-songwriter Aly Cook and Australian singer-songwriter Adi Burgess are well known by country music fans on both sides of the Ditch, having spent many weeks in the Australian Top 40 Country Tracks Chart.

Cook was New Zealand Female Country Artist of the Year in 2012, and Burgess was recently named Best New Country Artist and finalist for Best Country Artist at the Australian Independent Music Network Awards.

The duo will be joined by other local talent, including Peter Kesha, Merv Pulham, Colleen Hosking, Max McCauley,Vicki Evans, Graham Partridge, Ashlee Young and Bridget Collins.

They will perform at the Hotel Taieri at 1.30pm on Sunday.

The Country Showcase is part of a New Zealand tour, which includes concerts at the Kaitangata Town Hall (a fundraiser for the hall) on Friday at 7.30pm, and the Palmerston Sports Hall (a fundraiser for the Waihemo-Palmerston A&P Show) on Saturday at 7.30pm.

After the tour, Cook will travel to Australia to film a music video clip for a single from her new album Horseshoe Rodeo Hotel, which is due for release on June 5.

Then, later in June, she will tour Europe, before returning in August to perform a fundraising variety concert for the Jimmy Little Foundation at the Sydney Opera House.
