Any hopes of a nude Pirates rugby team have been dashed with the return of most of the senior team's jerseys.

Club chairman Conrad Stedman said a bag containing most of the jerseys was dropped on the back doorstep of the club on Wednesday night.

The team's playing kit - including socks and shorts - was stolen from a van parked in John Wilson Ocean Dr during the weekend.

Mr Stedman said all the socks were missing as were most of the shorts, but the team would be able to scrap together enough kit to take to the field clothed this weekend.

Any information about the theft or the outstanding kit can be provided to Pirates Rugby Football Club by contacting Conrad Stedman on 021-311-551.
