Otago earthquake

An earthquake described by government agency GeoNet as "strong intensity" rocked Otago at 11:18pm tonight.

Of magnitude 4.7km, it was centred  30km west of Dunedin, at a depth of 5km. 

Within 10 minutes, GeoNet had received 1082 reports of it being felt.
