Wood award winners announced

Mark Henderson (right), C3 Ltd's port manager, accepts his company's award for logistics/transport/port excellence from Phil Caulton, Dynes Transport general manager, during last night's Southern Wood Council Forestry Awards 2015 at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin.

The southern forestry industry's best and brightest talents were acknowledged at the event, at which five awards handed out before an audience including Associate Primary Industries Minister Jo Goodhew.

Other awards were. - Modern apprentice of the year: Sam Connor, Dave Paul Logging.

Forestry trainee of year: Mark Ludeman, Roxburgh Contracting.

Training company/contractor of year: Gamble Forest Harvesting.

Forest health and safety award: Dennis Hayes Logging.
