The talented cast of the 2015 Gang Show is moving its rehearsals from the country to the city.

Show management committee chairman Howard Brockie said 77 scouts and guides attended the final rehearsal camps at Waiora Scout Camp, Whare Flat, at the weekend..

The performers, aged between 10 and 28, were mostly from Dunedin but some had travelled from Te Anau, Alexandra, and Balclutha to rehearse.

''Everything is progressing really well. The co directors [Sue and Noel Walker] are really happy with how it is all coming together ... it's one of the more talented casts we've had.''

The performers had been rehearsing every weekend since early March and the dress rehearsals would begin at the Mayfair Theatre this weekend.

As with all 29 other Gang Shows held in Dunedin since 1956, the theme remains top secret until opening night.

''All I can say is it's a theme that will appeal to a really wide range of people,'' Mr Brockie said.

The show will be held at the Mayfair Theatre from July 7 until July 11.
