Man stable after shooting incident

A man is in a stable condition in Dunedin Hospital after an incident involving an air rifle.

Police said they were called to a property in Maitland St about 11.30pm yesterday, where it appeared a man had been shot at.

They are continuing to investigate, but believe it was an isolated incident and the public should have no concerns for their safety.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have been in the area last night and saw anything suspicious.

They can contact the Dunedin police station, or information can be provided via the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
