Creative styles were on show in the senior stylist section at the Otago Hairdressing Awards held at the Hutton Theatre in Dunedin yesterday.
Otago Hairdressing Association president Cameron Aitken-Boyle said he was pleased with the number and calibre of competitors in the event.
It was the first time the competition had been held since 2012 because of diminished interest, he said.
It was heartening to see 36 hairdressers compete across the competition's four events.
"We have had strong interest [this year], it's really good. I'm really
happy.''
