The 59.2m boat left Fiordland yesterday, stopping at the X/Y sheds in Dunedin's upper harbour for two hours from about 9am to take on 32,000 litres of diesel.
As the fuel was pumped, one of the 14 crew on board said it was the first time they had visited ''beautiful'' Dunedin.
However, the crew declined to comment on the boat, its owners, or who was on board.
The boat began its New Zealand journey in Auckland and departed Dunedin yesterday to return to Auckland, he said.
The Boat International website said Senses was owned by Google co-founder Larry Page and was available for charter for more than $700,000 a week in the South Pacific, Australasia, the Indian Ocean and Southeast Asia.
New Zealand businessman Sir Douglas Myers sold the boat to Mr Page in 2011 after it was listed for sale for $60.5million.
The boat includes a helicopter pad, gymnasium, outdoor jacuzzi, six sun decks and several smaller high-speed boats, including a stern-launched 12.8m Nelson tender.
