Organisers are happy with the turnout so far to activities for Dunedin Pride Week, the city's annual event aimed at raising the visibility of sexuality and gender diversity.

People came from as far as Auckland for Pride Week, which continues with five events over the rest of this week, Otago University Students Association queer support co-ordinator Hahna Briggs said.

Ms Briggs helped organise the event for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex community and said the 2015 event had been ''really great to organise''.

A week-long exhibition, Art InQueery, opened last night at the Community Gallery.

It includes artwork from both established artists and ''enthusiastic novices''.

Tonight's eventat the community gallery is ''Conversations about Continuums'' where transgender Aucklander Joey MacDonald will talk about how people approach the continuums of sex, gender and sexuality.

Other events at the community gallery include a workshop on making zines (fan magazines), a film and chat session and performances of a show titled Janus.
