Plea for patience as concert boosts traffic

Motorists are being warned to expect some delays on southern roads as thousands visit the city for tonight's Fleetwood Mac concert.

Dunedin Police have issued a plea for patience, saying with more than 34,000 people attending the concert, heavy traffic was to be expected.

"Please remember to be patient, give way when you need to and keep an eye out, as there will no doubt be a lot of people walking around, especially before and after the concert," they said in a Facebook post.

Buses are likely to be affected by the heavy traffic too, and the Otago Regional Council is advising that some delays should be expected.
