Disability water sports day at Brighton

Registrations are open for a disability water sports day in Dunedin on February 27.

The event, at Brighton Beach, is hosted by the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation and gives physically disabled New Zealanders the chance to try surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding.

The day runs from 10am to 1pm from the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club.

Halberg Disability Sport adviser Bridget Meyer said the foundation was working with the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club, Tokerau Beachboys, Paddleboard Dunedin, Red Paddle Co, Esplanade Surf School and the South Coast Board Riders Association to deliver the day.

To register as a participant or volunteer, contact Ms Meyer on bridget@halberg.co.nz or phone 027-697-7177.
