Dunedin Fringe Festival gala MC Tahu Mackenzie and Harvey Penfold look through the 2016 programme at the festival launch at Fringe HQ in Princes St last night.

Dunedin Fringe Arts Trust director Josh Thomas said last night was an opportunity for the trust to showcase the festival's new HQ to those involved with the festival.

It also marked the launch of this year's programme.

‘‘The programme is really strong and we have got the largest number of events that we have had in recent years,'' he said.

The majority of this year's shows were produced in Dunedin.

About 70 people attended last night's launch.

The festival runs from March 3 to 13.
