Woman passed out in shop

A Mosgiel woman was apprehended by Dunedin police on Saturday after she allegedly drove to a Mosgiel supermarket and passed out drunk in one of the store's aisles.

Senior Sergeant James Ure, of Dunedin, said police were called to Countdown in Mosgiel by a member of the public about 3.30pm.

He said a witness spotted the woman arriving at the supermarket car park in a vehicle, and she appeared to be ‘‘very intoxicated''.

Snr Sgt Ure said the woman had managed to go inside the store but had passed out soon after.

Police took her back to Dunedin Police Station for breath-testing.
