The Office of the Ombudsman has told the Southern District Health Board to release a report on its financial situation the board has been withholding under the Official Information Act since the middle of last year.
The board said it would release the report tomorrow.
The report, written by consulting firm Alma Consulting, was one of three the board initially refused to release, citing an entitlement to ‘‘free and frank'' expression of views.
It then released two of the reports after the Office of the Ombudsman probe was launched last year in response to a complaint by the Otago Daily Times, but held on to the third one.
