A section of State Highway 88 to Port Chalmers has been cleared of debris after being reduced to one lane following a cliff collapse this morning.
The incident happened shortly after 8am, when rocks and other debris collapsed on to the road, blocking the lane leading to Port Chalmers.
Firefighters remained at the scene controlling traffic for several hours, while contractors worked to clear the road.
