Police are reviewing camera footage as an investigation into the stabbing of a man in central Dunedin continues.

In a statement, police said they were reviewing CCTV footage recorded near the corner of Princes St and Moray Pl, where a 21-year-old man was stabbed in the neck and back about 3.30am on Sunday.

Police declined to reveal the weapon used in the attack.

The victim had been discharged from hospital.
