A 20-year-old woman was trapped for a short time between a car and a wall on the corner of Cargill and Filleul Sts, in Dunedin, yesterday.
The incident happened about 12.20pm.
The woman was later transported to hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the incident is under investigation, and a police spokeswoman said it was too early to say if any charges would be laid.
A little later, police attended a two-car crash on State Highway 1, at Queens Gardens, near Dowling St, about 1.30pm.
No-one was injured in the minor crash, a police spokeswoman said in a statement.
