Dunedin Poultry Show judge Russell Smith, of Ashburton, holds a white Pekin bantam cockerel, which was named best overall bird at the show at Forrester Park over the weekend.
The bantam is owned by Kaye Sangster, of Mosgiel, and was one of 600 bantams, ducks, game birds and pigeons on display.
About 50 exhibitors from around the South Island had entries in the show.
