Driver arrested after injuring woman

A 28-year-old Dunedin woman is to appear in the Dunedin District Court after using her car to injure another woman.

Sergeant Nathan White, of Dunedin, said the woman had been drinking and was attempting to drive her car, when the other woman tried to stop her by climbing on to the bonnet and holding on to the window wipers.

The driver drove off and the woman fell from the bonnet, receiving minor injuries, he said.

She was taken to Dunedin Hospital as a precaution.

The driver has been charged with driving with excess breath alcohol and careless driving.
