Many Dunedin parents were likely to have spent some time
picking straw and chocolate out of their children's clothes on
Saturday night after an event at Marlow Park.
The inaugural Great Easter Egg Hunt, organised by the South
Life Church, attracted hundreds of Dunedin families to the
park in St Kilda where children searched for eggs and other
prizes in straw, joined sack races, jumped on bouncy castles
or joined other games.
The church's children's pastor, Sarah Thompson, said the
church wanted to organise something for the community and
families to do on Easter weekend.
"It's been a heaps of fun. There was a good crowd and great
atmosphere. I'd say it's been a great success."
The church was definitely keen to hold the event again next
year, she said.
