35 arrested after All Blacks loss

Dunedin police had a busy night in the aftermath of the All Blacks' 27-22 loss to the France at Carisbrook Stadium last night.

Police said 35 people were arrested mostly for disorderly behaviour offences.

The centre city was packed with fans who had either gathered in the Octagon to watch the game in bars or made their way there from Carisbrook.

Should have been a lot more arrests

The behaviour of many on the terrace during and after the game was a disgrace - especially the throwing of bottles at the French team as they did their lap of honour. There's no possible excuse for that, and I was very disappointed that police and stewards present did nothing to stop the bottle throwing as soon as it started.
