Stadium brand launched

The individuals and organisations behind the Forsyth Barr Stadium at University Plaza gathered last night for a brand launch and a celebration of the project's progress.

The brand included a "curved stadium aurora symbol" for the stadium's logo, that depicted the outline of the stadium's roof, developed by Wellington-based company Cato Partners.

Carisbrook Stadium Trust chairman Malcolm Farry paid tribute to Forsyth Barr for joining the project as naming rights sponsor when the stadium was still at an early stage.

He said there were still "pockets of disenchantment" that opposed the project, and while it would provide enduring value for the region, that was something some had yet to buy into.

Forsyth Barr chairman Eion Edgar said the company tried to give "meaningful support" back to the community, and the stadium embodied that criteria.
