Price still unknown

"Minor technicalities" have held up a final agreement on the sale of Carisbrook to the Dunedin City Council, meaning it will be another week before the price is known.

An unconfirmed figure of $7 million has been suggested as the price the city will have to pay for the stadium, and confirmation is expected next week, when the price is expected to be made public.

Council chief executive Jim Harland said on Thursday some details had yet to be confirmed before signatures were put to the document for an agreement between the council and the Otago Rugby Football Union.

Asked if the price may be less than $7 million, Mr Harland said: "You'll just have to wait and see.

"I wouldn't hold your breath."
