Stabbing inquiry hindered

Police investigations into an alleged stabbing on Thursday night have been hampered by unco-operative witnesses.

Emergency services were called to a flat in Blacks Rd, North-east Valley, at 11.30pm on Thursday following reports a 23-year-old Dunedin man had suffered "superficial" stab wounds to his arms, Detective Sergeant Chris Henderson said.

The man, who was visiting the address, was taken to hospital and later discharged.

There was "not a lot of co-operation" from people at the scene, and it was not yet known if the man had been stabbed or had cut himself.

A bedroom window was broken during the incident.

No arrests had been made and police inquiries were continuing.
