Motorists using the new Pak'n Save South Dunedin petrol
pumps were shown the ins and outs of the self-service functions
yesterday.
The pumps went into operation yesterday.
They are the third set to be installed at Pak'n Saves in the
South Island. The others are in Invercargill and
Christchurch.
Pak'n Save South Dunedin co-owner Chris McDonald said the
fuel pumps were "flat out" yesterday.
The pumps are self service, and customers can pay with a card
or with cash.
Petrol would be the same price as at other stations but Pak'n
Save customers could save up to 6c a litre with fuel dockets
from the store.
Mr McDonald said attendants would be at the site for the next
few weeks to help people with the self-service system.
