Work to restore the deteriorating 100m-long section of
sea wall near Kitchener St, in Dunedin's harbour basin. began
last week.
It was expected to be completed next week, costing about
$60,000, Dunedin City Council project engineer Evan Matheson
said.
The rebuilt wall would include elements of the area's
original sea wall, built in 1913, either as a foundation or
by reusing original stones The plan had been approved by the
Historic Places Trust Otago-Southland branch staff.
