Molly van Dijk models an upcycled garment at the Otago
Polytechnic school of fashion yesterday.
The first-year fashion student was one of 15 models who
strutted their stuff in the sustainable fashion show.
Teaching and research assistant Kathryn Corry said first,
second and third-year and certificate students were placed in
groups and given the task of creating a fashion-forward piece
out of second-hand clothing.
After receiving pieces from Presbyterian Support, they had
two days to design and create their garments, which will be
on public display during iD Dunedin Fashion Week, she said.
