BP and Shell are getting fuel from other centres to boost
their dwindling Dunedin supplies.
Both companies say they do not expect to run out.
Shell spokeswoman Kylie Reeves said supplies were being
trucked in yesterday from other South Island centres. The
next Shell shipment to Port Otago was due on March 30.
She could not give a reason for the shortage, saying it was a
combination of factors.
BP was getting fuel from Bluff and Timaru.
BP spokeswoman Diana Stretch said she did not know why the
shortage had occurred, or when the extra fuel would arrive.
"We don't envisage issues for customers," she said.
