The Lee Stream and Clarks Junction community speed-shearing
event is being held for the second year, raising money for
Lee Stream School.
The event will be held on Saturday, starting at 5.30pm, at
Deep Hill Farm woolshed on State Highway 87, with the
prize-giving at the Clarks Junction Hotel.
There are four classes - a teams' event for four people which
must include a shearer, a woman and a child under 13; the
Alan Nichol Memorial Cocky Classic for farmers who do not
shear commercially; women's; and open.
Last year's event, which attracted several hundred people,
had been a fun night and also a learning curve, one of the
organisers, Tori Hope, said.
It was the school's major fundraiser for the year and the
community all pitched in to help.
There will a gold coin entry fee, spot prizes and food and
drink available, while entries will be accepted up to the
start of each event.
