Some of the secrets of integrating a robotic milking set-up
with New Zealand seasonal calving and pasture management
systems will be available at a road show in the South.
DeLaval will present and demonstrate some best practice
guidelines for Voluntary Milking Systems (VMS) at CCMP
Integrated Farm Solutions in Balclutha on Wednesday, October
24.
It will do the same at Southland Farm Services in
Invercargill on Wednesday, October 31.
Robotic milking would be part of New Zealand's dairying
future, DeLaval automatic milking systems specialist Ron
Mulder said.
Farmers would want to know the full implications, costs and
benefits of changing to a system that "puts their cows in
charge".
